For anyone wondering, some possible dog names have survived from cuneiform sources.

On tiny dog figurines found buried under a palace in Nineveh, Iraq are inscriptions that seem to be names.

dan rigiššu “loud is his bark”

munaššiku gārîšu “biter of his foe”

mušēṣi lemnūti “expeller of evil”

is it worse that people know what’s happening and do nothing, or that they don’t care enough to find out? this is exactly how it happened then, and how it’s happened around the world ever since.

reposting quotes about equality wearing workout clothes made by slaves, filming clean girl wellbeing journeys. buying cereal that pollutes indigenous peoples’ water supplies. this is not hidden information, it’s just being ignored. this level of collective cognitive dissonance is a fascist’s dream.

they would have been complicit, the frog in slowly-warming fascist waters. this is the unknowing public who let it happen then, only this time they do know. they’re seeing videos of gaza. they’re seeing their leaders build camps. they’re seeing it happen again, but for some reason think it can’t be.

i can’t find the info attached to any database listings so it’s probably not deemed a noteworthy observation but i think abt it a lot. it’s weird to think the only thing remembered about you in centuries to come could be as small as the way you rest your arms. i wonder if his friends ever noticed it
