Yep, I got a kitchen scale just for that purpose! And it's definitely saved my bacon on a couple of projects 😅 like this crop top I made a couple summers ago. I wasn't planning on having contrasting ribbing when I started out but from weighing knew I'd need to and found yarn I liked for it 😄

Absolutely, a different color on the cups would be very fun!
I would also suggest you look for the info on how much yarn (by weight) other folks used in their projects of this pattern on Ravelry for whatever size you're making, and weigh your yarn to estimate if you are likely to run out. 🤗

My best advice is: go to your local yarn store and bring the project with you. The folks there are likely to be really happy to help you figure it out & find something. They also might have some very small skeins meant for sock heels/toes so you don't end up with tons of excess yarn after.

It looks like the straps are I cords, which would be an easy place to swap in another color. I would probably look for something that is a pretty good color match with one of the tones in your existing yarn and a similar weight, basically trying to continue one color up instead of going for contrast

Super cute! Mmmkay let's see...
It's worked bottom up, so you probably have already passed the point of the transition from that bottom edge to the body texture. If you don't want to frog the whole thing, then you're probably past the point of doing a contrasting bottom edge or evenly spaced stripes

What is the project? I've done contrasting similar yarn on garments but have seen people try to match for things like shawls.

I'm sickened by the dismantling of that hard-won infrastructure by this administration. I'm also aware that everything I said here is likely also true of so many other areas that touch public life that I simply know less about.

Aviation safety was a huge part of what we discussed. Every failure point had multiple redundancies. The background and purpose of every regulatory requirement was born of accidents and commitments to avoid them ever happening again. It was never about blaming anyone but about fixing the systems.
