2️⃣ There's such a thing as toxic patriotism. Too many view flags & pledges with religious fervor, leading to violent actions. They're incapable of comprehending the meaning of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution, seeing them as weapons to wield rather than as principles to follow.

2️⃣ Sadly, even when tragedy occurs in our state of South Carolina (such as what happened at Mother Emanuel AME), lawmakers are too cowardly to stand up to the NRA and enact meaningful change that can save lives.
