I’m glad we all found each other over here! I’m a long time politics hobbyist and appreciate getting quality info from people who know. I mostly use my timeline as a news feed and rarely post.

The same people who pretend to be worried about trans women being in there

I’ve always thought that was the best reason to do it and don’t know why US politicians didn’t talk it up more. National defense is a big issue for conservatives.

YES it has driven me crazy for years.

What’s the odds he’s getting some weird “longevity” treatment some tech bros talked him into and he’s getting like transfusions of blue urchin plasma.

It’s sadly true. I have spent some time around tech types, and there’s often a subtle but important lack of self-awareness.

I had the same thought - even the one book she did reference, she provided no actual citations (literally, chapter and verse). It’s hard to believe the essay was in any way responsive to the assignment. Regardless of the content.

Of many irritations, it screws up my expected delivery dates in GMail and you can’t get rid of the giant erroneous alerts.

It’ll put a giant banner at the top of my mail that a package is expected “3 days from now.” A package I’ve already received.

The stuff you can’t opt out of is the worst.

This is one of those “questions about my shirt” references isn’t it

The quoted tweet speaks of the scary side of this reality. But it’s also pretty awe-inspiring and a testament to what we can accomplish as a society. Human nature has both good and bad sides. For 250 years, for all our flaws, we managed to stay on the honor system. We are capable of doing so.

Is it possible there was liberal migration to city centers?

Tbh, they also need some Kornacki

They need some Joy Reid.

Exactly. Sometimes politics is still local.

Excellent thanks for posting this. This is an area I’m very curious about. People keep saying soldiers are required to reject unlawful orders, but in an institution defined by the chain of command and obedience to it, it’s hard to know what that would look like.
