Still thinking about the John Candy documentary, “I Like Me”, that I watched Sunday night. What a bittersweet tribute to an amazing person and phenomenal talent. He and Robin Williams, two souls remembered for their boundless kindness. An immense loss for the world, a loss I know I still feel.

I’ll be very interested to see Netflix’s “Monster” take on Gacy, should this anthology continue beyond Borden. I’ve listened to and watched many interviews with serial killers over the years. Gacy has always been the scariest to me. I’ll never forget his interrogation tapes.

Finished Monster: The Ed Gein Story today. The overwhelming sense I’m left with is sadness. Yes, the expected shock value was there, and the show took various artistic liberties. But the last 2 episodes especially were just so sad, at their core. It’ll all stay with me awhile. Well done, Mr. Hunnam.

At least I have the FF Tactics remaster as the world continues to deteriorate. I’m so impressed with the enhancements they’ve made, even aside from the voice acting. Brings me back to my first time playing the original.

Work convos reminding me of how visiting the insanely haunted Hoia-Baciu forest in Transylvania has forever been on my bucket list. I actually would go alone if necessary, but damn, I wish Romania was closer. Flying scares me infinitely more.

I’m so very tired.
Bernie Sanders did in fact find out about the attack on Iran during his speech in Tulsa. This is that gut wrenching moment when he stopped his speech and announced Trump’s post then informed the audience that we are now at war with Iran. Sanders made clear it’s unconstitutional.

All I’ve wanted for most of my adult life is to live in a haunted castle far, far away from the vast majority of humanity and acreage for animals domestic and wild to run free.

Why is that so much to ask?

The Iraq playbook is back & the media won’t question it.

Iran has no nuclear weapons. Israel — on trial for genocide — does. Iran signed the NPT & allows IAEA inspections. Israel hasn’t — & its leaders face ICC arrest warrants.

Beware of politicians beating the drums of war.

Still can’t sip my sparkly Sanpellegrino blood orange drinks without daydreaming of the summers I spent in Italy. One day, I’ll get back there. I have to. 😭❤️

Today, children are taught about history’s worst crimes against humanity.

We ask how the world could have possibly let them happen.

Future history books will shame those who could have stopped the genocide in Gaza, but chose to enable atrocity after atrocity instead.

This might be a common observation/experience by now, but getting people to respond to emails is more difficult than it’s ever been, at least that I can recall. It’s not that everyone was unfailingly on top of everything before 2020, but it’s just gone so far downhill since then. It’s maddening.

It shouldn’t have taken a goofy little accessory like a new Fitbit device to push me into walking much more each day. But it did. And I’m glad I got it.

While I’m on about soundtracks, the “Rest for the Wicked” YT channel has some incredibly creepy ambient music. It’s been great background music as I’ve written/edited eerier novel scenes. Feeling this Hoia Baciu Forest one in my bones. 🖤 youtu.be/vs2lnnZYJdk?...

Rediscovered the Xenosaga soundtrack. Never actually played the games, but the music is so thrilling and evocative, I’m thankful I was introduced to it decades ago. “Omega” is absolute 🔥 youtu.be/D3u953gLTwQ?...

Wrapped up a rewatch of Season 1 of HBO’s ROME. I’m struck by all of the parallels with S2’s end that I’d forgotten. What a masterpiece of a show. Wish it could’ve gotten lots more than two seasons.
