Maybe they should stop prioritising corporate buying of residential properties so that actual people have a chance of buying homes. Geese arent holding onto speculative property assets.

Appreciated! I've been trying to wrap my head around it all.

Appreciate the thread so much. The part I'm struggling with is picturing in my head what exactly uninhabitable means in terms of local weather (Ireland, british isles) and overall climate conditions in Europe would mean. (Ice age?)

Do you have any resources to share?

Importantly, birds that remained with the same partner tended to lay eggs earlier, which is strongly tied to how many chicks they rear 🐣.

Resources are not infinite. There is no actual way to offset water consumption or the ecological destruction needed for the insane amounts of land needed for data centres & their energy consumption.

AI companies don't even cover their own operation costs & are valued based on unrealised profits.

Google results have been eshittified over the recent years too. I'm finding that I have to try track down older textbooks and search references within scientific journals to get the answers I need.

Our biggest issue as humans is sieving through piles of crap knowledge to get to reliable answers.

Honestly it's a money grab based on a speculative bubble made of smoke and mirrors. It churns money into the pockets of some of the worst people in the world while destroying our future.

Even the big companies have figured out how to produce real profits from AI but still promise the world.

I have my first Lunaria plants in the ground already so by this time next year I'm hoping to have some pods saved for wreaths too. They are gorgeous!

You are very good! I was considering it but it's mostly an elderly relative or friends I've lost touch with 🫣

I can't help thinking rejoining the EU is on the cards soon though 🤞

Boo for Brexit. I hope it becomes viable to post to Ireland again one day.

Too many creators being held back. Love the range of items in your shop.

Good going! We have two ibcs waiting to be hooked up too. Matching the existing guttering is turning out to be interesting 😂

It's not just unpaid labour. The book 'Bullshit Jobs' puts this income disparity of jobs that have high societal value but low actual pay such as EMTs, Nurses, Careworkers, teachers, researchers and many more into context.

It's a real eye opener of how societies organise themselves.

The way the sentence ends with "also..." in the caption from the main post made me laugh a second time. Top tier post

If city councils could provide free IBC tanks like they did with the brown bins at one stage in Ireland it would go a long way to helping people with rainwater storage. Slowing down water flow during heavy rain is underestimated too imo.

My own 14 year old nearly said something about immigration that he heard at school and I had to remind him that both his parents are immigrants. 🫣 Not a proud moment.

Id love to see a more concerted recruitment of citizens to tackle the problem. Properly coordinated and funded by the government rather than the current piecemeal approach that relies heavily on donations.
