I haven't watched most of the MMFF entries yet, but "Green Bones" is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me. Hoping to catch "Isang Himala" later or tomorrow.

#ClimateActionNow!
Anlamig na ng hangin dito sa probinsiya. Totoo ba talaga ang climate change? 🥴

Buti naman. Kala ko papatalo tayo eh.
This is what the Philippines calls the e-trike/e-bike and yeah, they are eating ICE vehicles' lunch. That's why the government is fear mongering and trying to ban them wholesale (so far unsuccessfully)

In the Philippines, "e-bikes" has also started to become code for "people we don't care about"

There is such a big push to ban e-bikes because dealers would rather have households go into debt for cars and motorcycles!
For many New Yorkers, "e-bikes" are now basically a dog-whistle for "migrant workers." Go to a CB meeting and you will see.

Yep...
I'm reminded of "100 companies responsible for 70% of emissions" discourse - a few things:

1) Individual behavior won't really move the needle and we need systemic changes

2) The systemic changes that will move the needle will force behavior changes in ways not everyone will like right now.
We need to stop saying “road safety is a shared responsibility.”

Highway engineers, automakers, and policymakers have the power to reduce the sky-high number of US crash deaths. Individual road users don't.

3 kilometers in the quagmire of a Manila rush hour. Once took me 1.5 hours by car - just over 15 minutes by bike.

There is exactly one good thing that came out of that guy buying Twitter, which is that they somehow blew up @dieworkwear.bsky.social beyond anyone's wildest dreams

I have to go to bed, so sadly I'll miss the big moment, but knowing that when I wake up Bluesky will have reached its 20 million-user target is incredibly exciting to me, and I expect too many of you.

So glad this place is blossoming! And so glad to be experiencing its blossoming with all of you. 🦋

HUMAN TRANSIT is one of the books that changed my life and changed how I approached my career in transport planning. It's a must-read for anyone at any level of interest in the field!

Saving (and sharing) here the excellent set of graphics from Liga Peatonal making the case AGAINST anti-pedestrian footbridges and FOR pro-pedestrian, pro-transit crosswalks.

You don't need to know Spanish to learn the lessons - and we would do well to learn these in the Philippines

What works in Scandinavia works in Southeast Asia. It's not about weather, some principles of good bike infrastructure are universal!
