Last night we hosted a preview screening of the film Free for All: The Public Library my library. The film explores the history public libraries from their beginnings in America and doesn't shy away from some dark times in our field's past. It premiers on @pbs.org on April 29. The WA Senate has passed a bill to extend unemployment insurance (UI) benefits to workers during labor strikes. Striking workers who logged at least 680 hours in the past year would be eligible and if approved claimants would receive an average of $757 for up to four weeks.
