That one goes under the radar a bit. Bitter End is my favourite. Saw them at Dingwalls in London around the time it came out.

Really respect Bernard Butler. If you haven’t heard it already, I’d really recommend his guest spot on the Rockonteurs podcast from a few years ago.

I saw him at the same venue promoting “Hey, Mr Ferryman” with the full band including Bernard Butler and it was great of course.

Which one did you see? The most perplexing thing about the show in Sheffield is that he was really struggling to play the guitar in the first half. Lots of false starts and bum notes. But he seemed to settle and then that voice soared.

AMC really struck a chord from ‘89 on. I saw ME in April. The first half of the show was painful but something magical happened mid show and the rest was mesmerising. He did at least half a dozen new songs so hoping for a new album soon.

I bought the first album at the time after a rave review but never connected with it. Love AMC who I suppose you could say were working along similar lines.
