Quite fond of these two

1981. This was great fun at 15. Virtually all of the singles up to that point plus the best of their previous two albums. Support was the abysmal Anti- Nowhere League.

I stand corrected. My favourite Banshees album and the only time I saw them in 1982. They were brilliant.

Always liked “Little Arithmetics” so bought this in Oxfam today for £3. And the Van Morrison album for £4. Quietly pleased.

Another spin for one of my top 3 from 2025. Opener “Christopher and His Kind” is as good as anything KOD put out.
Hebden Bridge three weeks from today. Yes.

Seen these 4, all in 2025.

1989 - These four for me

17 years ago today at The Foundry, Sheffield Uni’. Supported by J Tillman.
Possibly the last band I completely fell in love with on first hearing. It was freezing cold that night and the first time I noticed a fair few of the audience were in their sixties or older. I was 42, a mere boy.

Me too. Still have the ticket.

39 years ago today. My only sighting of solo Julian in the wild. Set comprising of first 3 solo albums plus a couple of TE singles. Julian on fine form using that mic stand to great effect and with a great band backing him. Support from Primal Scream Mk 1 at the peak of their early powers.

40 years ago today

The Weather Prophets/Primal Scream/The Bodines/Meat Whiplash - Hammersmith Clarendon.

One of the first WP shows? Primal Scream did 6 songs in 15 minutes. The Bodines had a clutch of fine tunes that never really made the transition to record. Meat Whiplash had “Don’t Slip Up”.

The Coral 18.10.2007 Sheffield Octagon.

In support of a great album “Roots And Echoes” and I got to hear my second favourite Coral song “Music at Night”. But most memorable in being my lad’s first concert aged 14. He loved it.

I’ve seen that episode. Remember the Sunday afternoon drives out as a kid to the villages surrounding Corby. Weldon, Stanion, Brigstock.

I bought this 50 years ago when I was 9. Think it was the third LP I ever bought. Know it all back to front. Sadly not available on cd.

This “cult classic” that everyone seems to love. I try again every few years but nope, still does nothing for me.
Just me?

Yes, saw EATB/B Orchids on Heaven Up Here tour April 81 and U2/Comsats on October tour in 81. These two.
October 6, 2025 at 4:40 PM
That’s a shame. I saw them together in October 1982 with the mighty Blue Orchids as well.

Buxton was equally joyous last Monday. I only took one terrible picture right at the end.

You were on it last night in Sheffield. Get back in that studio as soon as you can.
Ps. What was the new one called about four songs in ?
