I attended 2 No Kings protests here in deep maroon Arkansas--one in Mountain Home and the other in Harrison. Joyous, poignant, great signs from individual's personal concerns. A great day. Rain held off to the last moment in Harrison.

Little town in RED north central Arkansas came out. Mt Home had 300 protesters with great signs and spirit. Police were supportive and ticketed trucks who spewed exhaust on the group. Very small MAGA group across the street looked very sad.

Playing in my studio. I'm taking an Improve the Block class from Sherri Lynn Wood. FUN. This is my first Tumbler block that I dissected with smaller tumblers.

Fire in the wood stove warming a wet Christmas in Arkansas. Family coming over for our shared meal and exchanging gifts. Wishing the sparks of the Solstice fire ignite compassion and bring back the sun into the darker winter days.

I just signed up to monthly support The Guardian. Diversifying news to another country seems prudent at this moment in history. Buffalo Point transformed after flooding--so too will our nation be changed. It is up to us to have a say in how.

Joy and kindness matter--just ask Elwood P. Dowd from the movie Harvey. My Joy quilt top for Kamala is nearing the quilting phase.

Recent heavy rains reshaped the banks of the Buffalo River at Buffalo Point campground into pebble dunes. Feels like a metaphor for the next 4 years. For now, nature soothes and fascinates me.
