They were on land but as I approached they went into the water. Earlier there were so many in the Pamlico sound, that when they all took off I could hear them from a ways off. These two were at Bodie Island Light. There’s a short trail and they were fishing at the bridge.

Yesterday I was dusting the bookshelves and in rearranging the poetry shelf, this appeared. I have looked for this book high & low for weeks, wondering, could I have given it to someone since I usually carry it in my backpack. I was thrilled to see it again, like an old friend.
