Enjoyed being in Milan for the European Cystic Fibrosis Conference! Presented our study on the long-term effectiveness of CF modulators using US CFF registry data, challenging without a contemporary control group post-rapid adoption.

Grateful to the ECFS for the Travel Grant Award.

Personalized Biopsy Schedules Using an Interval‐Censored Cause‐Specific Joint Model
Active surveillance (AS), where biopsies are conducted to detect cancer progression, has been acknowledged as an efficient way to reduce the overtreatment of prostate cancer. Most AS cohorts use fixe...

Periodic reminder:

Hyphens for double-barrelled surnames (Fisher-Box, Barndorff-Nielsen).

En-dashes for shared credit among 2+ people (Box–Cox, Kaplan–Meier, Cramér–Rao, Gauss–Hermite, Newton–Raphson).

Stop wasting my time (googling “did Kaplan and Meier have a kid”) by getting this wrong

Our new paper is out in Statistics in Medicine! We developed a joint model for multiple (un)bounded longitudinal markers, recurrent events, and competing risks, applied to US CF patient registry data. Joint work with @drizopoulos.bsky.social and @erandrinopoulou.bsky.social.

A Joint Model for (Un)Bounded Longitudinal Markers, Competing Risks, and Recurrent Events Using Patient Registry Data
Joint models for longitudinal and survival data have become a popular framework for studying the association between repeatedly measured biomarkers and clinical events. Nevertheless, addressing compl...

Looking forward to present at the Diabetes StatClin Meeting in the beautiful Santiago de Compostela!

I'll be talking about dynamic prediction using joint models for longitudinal and time-to-event data, connecting biostatistics and clinical practice to advance diabetes care.

Heading to Paris for the European CF Young Investigator Meeting! Excited to present our work on the long-term effectiveness of ivacaftor. With rapid adoption, finding a control group is challenging—I'll discuss how within-subject analyses can help! @vaincrelamuco.bsky.social
