But if a vehicle is necessary, an EV is the better option.

Fossil fuel powered vehicles are the horse and buggy of our time. They represent a past that is best left behind.

We will all be better off when they are a fun novelty rather than the norm.

Communities that can be lived in without needing a car are ideal.

Communities made of clustered shops/services/living spaces, pedestrian spaces, sidewalks, bicycle paths, and public transport are much better.

It's liberating to not need a car and to have a small work-home-community daily triangle.

Finding one is not hard either as all the charging companies have apps for their chargers. There are websites and apps to find chargers: A Better Route Planner abetterrouteplanner.com, PlugShare www.plugshare.com, and Google Maps. EVs have chargers listed in their navigation systems.

A Better Routeplanner is the world's most popular consumer EV routeplanner - both for beginner and experienced EV drivers. And of course for anyone curious about EVs.

There are more EV charging stations than gas stations these days probably because they are easy to build. They don’t need fuel tanks or pumps and can go anywhere a wire can go.

I hate exhaust. I love exhaust-free vehicles as a pedestrian, cyclist, passenger, driver, and voter.

Someday the norm will be be exhaust-free zones just like most places are smoke-free zones.

Petroleum products are toxic compounds all along the chain from collection to refinement to delivery and then as fuel. Being near a vehicle powered by those products means breathing fumes and exhaust.

What are the Health Effects of Exhaust Emissions?
Exhaust emissions which result from internal combustion engines have become increasingly regarded as a potential health risk.

Internal combustion engine vehicles stink. Those machines spend so much time exhaling and inhaling exhaust and fumes that they carry their own toxic cloud.

I'm being a bit dramatic here but "Plants like shit" when discussing climate change is bad politics done in bad faith.

We need good policy about dealing with the shit we produce. We don't need deliberate neglect.
July 31, 2025 at 11:58 PM
We need to manage our shit 💩. We need to regulate CO2 and Methane. We need to have government incentives, disincentives, rules, & regulations about how much shit we make and where it goes.

We have to “goldilocks” our environment. And that means regulate. Regulation is natural, it is called homeostasis (literally “keep things in range” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeost...). If we fail to build homeostasis into our industrial processes and other human activities, big and small, we will die.

We need the same, not too much or too little of CO2, Methane, heat, water, and a whole lot of other necessities for life. We need regular weather not extreme weather. We need less CO2 and Methane in our air.
July 31, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Plants need the right environment to thrive and be useful. They need a sweet spot to live in. More CO2 and Methane is wrecking that environmental sweet spot.
July 31, 2025 at 5:47 PM
But CO2 and Methane are also greenhouse gases (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenho...). The more we have of both, the more our Earth traps energy and the more extreme our weather gets—droughts, flooding, heat domes, cold snaps, fires. Those changes wipe out crops and people.

Plants use CO2 to grow but more CO2 is not necessarily good for plants. If we pump up the CO2, they will grow more but are less nutritious. And this is only if you don’t change anything else, like how hot or cold they get or how much water or light they get.
July 31, 2025 at 5:47 PM
If anyone is telling you “CO2 is good for plants”, they are telling you “eat shit and die”.

We expel Carbon Dioxide (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_...) from our bodies because it is a waste byproduct that is harmful to us.
