I believe the senator was referring to jobs like electrical apprentice and such (plumber, pipefitter, welder, HVAC, steelworker, carpenter...) Most of these jobs pay $25-$65/hour with benefits after completing a 5 year apprenticeship. They are not garbage jobs. Or are you meaning something else?

Yes!

Unionized trades are excellent careers! Skilled labor with no student debt. Many trades allow you to work anywhere in the country. (Some require update classes for specific state regulations) Wages that you can raise a family on when you aquire a Journeyman license.
