Secret opinion
(Because fairly sure no one I know reads this stuff ….)
I am trying to do more of what I want or don’t want and less of what other people want me to do. I’m trying to be polite and kind but so far this week I’ve had a dear friend be rude to me and now I’ve got a sulking husband.

Loved Department Q on Netflix - unusually I much preferred TV Carl to Book Carl who I thought was tiresomely sexist.
But once again fictitious representations of a therapist are very odd. One minute she’s offering therapy, the next she pretending he’s her brother and then she’s round his house!

Posts that assertively demand we all stop doing this or calling something that when no-one I know, have read or worked with have ever used these terms 👀

What is that all about?

I just don’t understand when narcissistic traits became like witch burning. Isn’t it our job to work with people to help them live better lives?
I’m a CSA survivor and did my fair share of hurting myself and others when I was younger. Imagine if we were all demonised rather than supported.

I see things on social about how anxiety belongs to one generation or another and I think it’s nonsense.
All of us throughout our lives may feel anxious, overwhelmed etc. I think it’s useful to understand how age and social context impact that but not in order to take sole ownership.
Your view?

I have a neuro divergent supervisor. She is fantastic!
I learn so much from her in many different ways but specifically:
I have learned how we build relationship together in ways that suit us both and how we can notice, discuss and learn from differences between us.

I get that algorithm’s can be evil but BS is a very hard platform to feel much sense of belonging I find.
Just me?

Morning Blue Sky. Therapy practise re-opens today after by holiday. Going back to the work is always energising and daunting too. It matters

Today is my 64th birthday!
Busy day with client work but nice plans coming up. Therapeutically my 60’s have been the best years of my career. It’s a great decade for me.

Seeing ourselves with “softer eyes” sounds like a goal most of us would benefit from. Lovely stuff from @pperry.bsky.social

Training had been intense. Since Marjorie won both the Chockabox (small) and Chockabox (medium) competitions her coach felt she was ready for Chockablock and maybe one day even Chockabrick!

Morning BlueSky just a straightforward forward greeting that doesn’t mention any kind of politician whatsoever!
Have as good a day as you can everyone

This is so important and one of the many reasons to look beyond labels
A person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.

All my life I’ve been someone who sometimes wants to stir the pot…by this I mean say things that are hard to say. Having controversial views is nothing new so it’s not just me. I think it comes from the repression I experienced as an abused child when I couldn’t speak

Episode 3 of the Netflix drama Adolescence is an amazingly powerful representation of a therapist that I actually recognise as truthful.
Usually in dramas we are busy having affairs with clients or generally behaving like morons but this was incredible.
