Yes! Just because we experience time as linear doesn't mean it is. Could be simultaneous, with ghosts being glimpses into other times. You'll believe in ghosts if you've ever sat on a bench in the central green in Salem, MA. That town is creepy and haunted, even on a sunny summer day.

Yes! And a Prez, VP, AG, etc. who speak with the dignity and respect befitting their offices. I’m appalled—and embarrassed for our country—by the disdain, arrogance, and coarseness they ooze daily.

Thank you for this important thread. They've definitely gone beyond the dog whistle phase, as you say: openly acting to erase everyone & everything that doesn't fit their vision of the world.

I got mine at a CVS Minute Clinic as soon as I could get an appointment anywhere in the state. I cried with relief. The nurse who gave me the shot teared up & said this was the most important thing she'd done in her 15-year career.

I'm glad I live in the blue bubble that is Massachusetts & can count on my senators to do the right thing. I still call & email them...sometimes to urge action, sometimes to thank them.

Glad to know I've been miserable for a verifiable reason!

But at least the Victorianists & word appreciators like moi get to enjoy the renaissance of "miasma," which doesn't get a lot of modern use. The downside is we may also die like Victorians, from diseases and pathogens modern science controlled.

Thank you for writing about this important part of our history. A very good read, too.

Doubt they got permission—another thing they never do.

My dad also avoided political talk, but kept enough of his liberal NY upbringing to balance the make-your-own way, fiscal conservatism. When we joined him for his 70th reunion at West Point, he talked more: he was proud of the diversity in the leadership of the cadet corps & still anti-war.

I grew up as a military kid and have declared July 4 a day of mourning this year (and god help us when it's the 250th next year). I'm glad my Army Colonel father isn't alive to see what we've become; he passed six months into DT's first term.

Sprout Living Epic Protein Powder (5 or 6 flavors, organic) mixed with a liquid of your choice. I've tried most of the flavored protein powders, and all but this one were far too sweet for me. Epic does contain coconut sugar & stevia, but not much of each. Sprout also has single-ingredient powders.

Cutting taxes on overtime pay? A gift to police officers. When I served in town gov't, it was clear that longstanding wink & nod policy was to keep the force small so that people could rack up huge amounts of overtime on road construction details, etc.--sometimes 50% of their income was overtime.

More likely that the board forced him out (especially if some of them knew he intended to step down next year anyway).

Noncitizen mother, naturalized father didn't meet US residency requirement of 10 years before the birth. Son came into US at 3 years old as a permanent resident with visa application listing his nationality as Jamaican.
