You can tell I have a good brain that works well because it's currently fixated on the fact that every Getty Images picture of Claire Danes and Kate Winslet together contains a man named Hugh, but not always the SAME man named Hugh

Fingers crossed that Dwayne Johnson and Benny Safdie's Lizard Music adaptation is a huge hit and spawns a whole Daniel Pinkwater extended universe. Can't wait for Snarkout Boys And The Avocado Of Death as their version of The Avengers

I try not to write too many things that are JUST dunks on societal bad actors but, like, sometimes the spirit of the dunk moves ya

They're only very loosely in conversation with each other, but Warp Your Own Way got me thinking about Jason Shiga's Meanwhile again. That book is 15 years old now, and it feels like nobody's really tried to broaden out or explore the space it charts in non-linear narratives

Goodbye to my sweet, shy Sammie girl. My wife brought three kitties to our relationship, and you were the slowest to trust me, the hardest nut to crack. Thank you for letting me earn your love.

One of the ways we chill around here is I read Discworld books aloud to my wife, and you can kind of internalize a thought like "Guards, Guards is where Pratchett really starts to cook" but FUCK does Guards, Guards kick ass. You can watch him find Ankh-Morpork, the real one, page-by-page.

Streaming tonight at 8 p.m. Pacific. Riding solo on a Friday night, which means it's time for the return of Jerkpardy!, the only online quiz show completely made up of me reading old Jeopardy! questions to my chat while occasionally yelling at myself for getting questions wrong.

I quote The Final Sacrifice incessantly in any case, but the number of times I've quietly caught myself singing "And I will be the one… to hold Larry Csonka down. I will kiss him so hard. I will take Larry Csonka's breath away" is way, way too high.

I'm writing a column about The Age Of Plastic Instruments and I was poking around Getty for various Guitar Hero things - mostly to look at celebrities being huge dorks after getting one in a gifting suite - but whoops Reno 911's Thomas Lennon and Kerri-Kinney Silver actually made it look badass
