for some it makes us fight harder
So, every time a disabled elder dies, the landscape of the disability community shifts. Generally for the worse, in my opinion. Either way it's always a readjustment.
My question is, as people die, will new people be willing to take up the fight? This society wants us all dead.

to the delta flight attendant who waited until she thought i was asleep before reaching down to pet my service dog— please don’t do shit like that. distracting a service dog can be life threatening to their handler. i promise you, even if he doesn’t look like it he is working

you have to expect for disabled people to exist anywhere you do. it’s not enough to just have a sign that says “service dogs welcome” if the door to your store is too heavy for a service dog to open

what am i learning as SNAP benefits run out? that in times of crisis we can rely on our neighbors. there are still good people in the world. and if people pulled together everyday the way they are right now to feed their neighbors we wouldn’t need the government to help us at all

i love going to trainings where the facilitators implement practices that i’ve implemented into my trainings. it helps me feel like a stronger facilitator, knowing that what i do works and other people do it too
