As expected, UK inflation rises for the second consecutive month, to 2.6%. Any chance of a further cut to the Bank of England Base Rate tomorrow has now disappeared, although markets still expect 3-4 quarter point reductions throughout 2025.

Some great tips here. But it bears repeating that there is no central credit score which will determine your fate on an application for any piece of credit. Very rarely - but still sometimes - someone with a great score on Experian/Equifax will fail. Usually for a reason detailed in this video.
While no one has an official credit score, there are many things you can do to make yourself more attractive to lenders when you apply…

Parliament has been the place of some shameful behaviour from time to time, but it’s heartening to see respectful and healthy debate on the ‘Assisted Dying Bill’ and this is a great advert for our parliamentary democracy. I have buckets of admiration for Kim Leadbeater for bringing this bill.

A month ago back-to-back cuts to the Bank of England Base Rate seemed very likely. Now, post-Budget and given today’s inflation print, I wouldn’t bet on a December cut.

Consensus in the market is still for a series of rate cuts throughout 2025, but these might not come as often as we’d like.

It’s incredible how quickly Bluesky has taken off. Lots of journalists here, but not many businesses yet. It does very much feel like Twitter at the beginning.
Despite a massive head start, BlueSky has now overtaken Threads in the US 👇
