That’s it - I’ve seen the dumbest commercial - Air Canada where the girl is sad that her backyard rink is melted SO SHE GETS ON AN AIRPLANE to fly somewhere for a magic potion to freeze the ice and you know what would actually help preserve backyard ice?! 📉

It's important to remember too that no one and no sector is exempt from this. Lamenting the climate crisis and fossil industry while pretending your own choices are irrelevant is far too common in the conservation and climate world.

It really is now or never. Previous generations have had to make great sacrifices - can we at least make some little ones? A plant-based diet and giving up flying are not the hugest of inconveniences, if you think about what's at stake for even a minute.
Global CO2 emissions must reach zero to limit global warming.

Yes: fine to completely normalise futures where machines suck many 100s billions of tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere, but suggesting limits on the number of flights taken by wealthy hi-emitters or moving away from cars (including EVs) in built-up urban environments is considered beyond the pale.
