Neither had an idea the song was about pot, and Welk thought the song was a “modern spiritual.”

My 6 year old has been asking about going to Pizza Hut recently. After his most recent request I decided to explain to him how good we used to have it with Pizza Hut buffet and Book It. Now he’s sad.

My oldest son, 9, has started calling me dad instead of daddy. It throws me off every time he says it and I’m not sure I’m mentally ready for it.

Outside of the constant bullshit in the real world, nothing is causing me more anxiety right now than making sure this carpet to vinyl transition works out.

A morally praiseworthy action you can take today is: find a band you like that you’ve never bought merch or physical media from. And spend between $10 and $30 on merch (if you are able).

I often question the design of modern keyboards when typing. Why is the airplane mode just above the number row? Why is my home key right next to the delete key? Who would make the directional keys, page up and down smaller and put all 6 together? I’m not a great typist, but holy shit.

The one day I don’t ask my child if he has his swimsuit on for swim practice he forgets to wear it. Swim practice was the sole reason for him to get dressed this Saturday morning and yet here we are.

For a few years now I’ve been trying to create a playlist of my 500 favorite songs. The list initially started at around 4500 songs. I pulled out my definites and have been struggling with the rest. Im down to about 900 to fill ~350 spots. I’ve run into 3 problems while doing this.

This one in today’s Connections had me chuckling.

I saw 9 films in theater in the past year. This is crazy amount for me as I have probably never seen more than 4 in a year ever (40+ years).

I left the other platform several years ago. I joined @bsky.app a few weeks ago and have been happy to see many of those I interacted with elsewhere here. I hope to find more and start talking music again.
