Things come out of the cart in a few ways.

1. When I'm at the store in person I open the cart to see what I need.
2. I look at something saved and realize I don't need it
3. I look at something saved and realize there's a better/cheaper one.
4. I buy everything left in the cart.

I have a consumption habit with Amazon built in to it. The moment I notice a lack, I open the Amazon app, search for the item, and put it on my shopping cart. I don't buy right away, though. I let the cart fill up with semi-random stuff.

So the change wasn't to carry over your Amazon habits to a different vendor, it was to have a different approach to buying.

That's cool. How did you make the change?

I'm trying to wean myself but it's not easy because most of the easy alternatives are also big ugly companies.

He's amazing and subtle at the same time. Such an original creator.

Li Daiquo - the frequency that help his highness glutinous rice balls

The trumpist "rivalry" with China is 90% xenophobia and racism. Chinese authoritarianism is real and terrifying, but so is the trumpist kind. The impact of trumpism is to weaken democracies and invite Chinese dominance.

Appreciating urban Chinese music is an opt-out. I decline to believe the hype.

Hipster music reflects the insane dynamism of the Chinese economy. Those endless variations on products like Hello Kitty calculators - blenders, vibrators, milk steaming wands - don't come from nowhere. China does spray and pray at an insane volume. Creativity makes music great.

It certainly does

Harp chords are hard to wrap your head around but not so hard to play.

This crazy G7 is spelled F, G, B, D. The G and F notes are right next to each other but their four strings apart!

Harp chords aren't hard to finger, mainly. They're hard to think.

This Cmaj7 chord has a B note a semitone away from a C note. The lowest note is on the G string, not the A string! From lowest to highest it's G, B, C, E, with the B and C right next to each other.

If you played this G7 chord down below the 12th fret, it would be spelled F, B, D, G. Above the 12th fret like it is here, it's F, G, B, D. The F and G on the bottom are only a whole tone apart!

It's only of use hanging on the wall.

I'm impressed by Love Chant too. It's kind of a shocker to find a reunion album that's at least as good as the best of the peak era, if not better.

In my musical life I avoid digital politics, mainly. I spent decades focused on political aspects of music-making, like Creative Commons and FOSS tooling, but nowadays I feel like that stuff is for tech workers.

You're not wrong. Logic exists to trap customers within the entire vertically-integrated maze of Apple products. I get that iPhones and Macs are the reason Logic is $199 instead of $749.

Looking closer, I feel *really* daunted by the price of Ableton. Now I understand the lock-in Apple has in funneling users from Garageband to Logic.

Excellent. Thank you.

I feel daunted by the learning curve but strengthened by going into it with my eyes open.
