I'm alternating between food prep and painting this morning.

Started the mandala, with paint I mixed myself.

Grateful for my life, however humble. Art therapy makes it more joyous. 🕊️

I'm headed out soon for a brief run into Safeway, after a huge, heavy trip on two buses, to Walmart earlier.

When I return, I have a mandala painting to work on. The paints are made by me, mixing mica pigment with acrylic medium.

I'm looking forward to bringing this vision to life.

Today, I'm continuing the work to get my space organized. I have my art supplies in labeled tubs, on my shelving unit.

One of my housemates just bought a large TV, so he's gifting me his old one.

So, I'm rearranging furniture and clearing the top of my wide dresser. ☺️

Deep gratitude.

I spent the day re-arranging all my furniture and moving boxes. I'm getting my space better organized, so my art space isn't crowded out.

Deer, as seen from my window. And a shot of twilight's glorious hues.

The pasta was a big hit. Yay!

Making up sauce Bolognese, with (drained) Italian sausage, to share with my housemates.

Pics from today's morning walk along the waterfront.

Finished with this piece, with its autumn 🍁 palette. What looks bright pink (Magenta) is really more of a plummish Mulberry. I tried tweaking settings, but indoor lighting just skews the palette a bit.

I am ordering acrylic spray, so I can seal my paintings, and then photograph them outdoors.

Sharing the beginning of a fall-themed painting, playing with blocks of color.

My skills in using washi tape, and my wet-on-wet technique are getting sharper. Yay! 🥳

Just finished this up today. It's been awhile since I did a mandala, and this was quite engrossing.

This is done in pan watercolors by Artistro, with the background done with Windsor & Newton's Iridescent medium, plus some Pewter and Permanent Rose (tube) watercolors by Windsor & Newton.

I've been away from BlueSky lately, because [life].

I've been ramping up my creative work, both artwork and writing. Currently planning a mandala painting.

Below is a recent painting... (Kinda hard to see the nuance of the metallics in a still pic.)

Sharing a bit of beauty, captured in situ, as I walked through town this morning.

I love how sunny fall days and crisp autumn nights combine to create these lovely reds in the falling leaves.

Sharing a bit of beauty from my walk along the waterfront yesterday.

(Had posted yesterday here, and swore this pic was attached, but nope. 🙄😏)

Trying this again, somewhat less exhausted, and in much less pain. That and caffeine should ensure success. 🥳

A painting I did today, for a friend whose favorite colors are teal and orange. I added a metallic gold halo around the heart, giving it a radiant glow.

The art is a gift of appreciation for their kindness and radiant heart.

Google converted my pic into a stylized version that I mostly like, though my dragonheart tattoo, made from two dragons facing each other, their wings creating a heart, into a palm tree. (AI trying to make sense of an incomplete pattern.)

Yay! New paints finally arrived safely. These look like amazing media. Big, double-size pans, and each of the 48 colors is removable (two layers of 24).

Can't wait to try these out! ☺️

Pic from earlier this year. I love these teeny flowers, and plan to try painting them at some point.

New paints arrive today 😀, so I'm a happy artist, if flat broke. 😉

I will get much joy from painting, using different techniques.

I'm studying my portfolio, looking for what worked well.

Good morning 🌄

This is what I woke up to. Two of my housemates are moving out, one against her wishes, after all the meth usage and neighbor complaints.

She's acting out, as are the others. L will remain, but she never EVER cleans up her mess. (She admits to being a *diagnosed* psychopath.)

Sharing a bit of beauty:

1) a fawn outside my window first thing this morning, along with his mom, a doe 🦌 not pictured, and

2) flowering blooms from along the oceanside trail, where I love to walk.

Take a moment to be present, to breathe with the natural beauty in your life.

This piece is coming along nicely. Still need to do cleanup on the grid, then add the black border as a frame, to pull the elements together, and to anchor the lower section. There's a lot of light play in these various textures; hard to capture in a still photo.

I learned a lot, doing this piece.

I added more metallic blue and blue, after adding more red glaze.

This needs to dry thoroughly, and then I will add a sheer layer of iridescent medium over the red.

I love how metallics *pop*, especially when applied over black watercolor ground, as in this case. ☺️🖌️🎨

Life can be chaotic for us all, given...

(gesturing towards the chaotic zeitgeist)

... everything that's going on right now. 🫣

But there's art. It's a solace in the moment.

Joy in the doing; getting lost in Flow.

I added more red glazing to this. Next, I'll add sheer iridescent medium on top.
