“Clicks” show how many times links were triggered

“Visits” show how many people actually arrived on your site

Both numbers are true, they’re just measuring different stages of the journey.

Understanding that difference helps you read your analytics more confidently.

🌐 Plausible, on the other hand, only counts a visit once your page has fully loaded and our script runs in the browser. If the visitor drops off before that point, that visit isn’t recorded.

Earlier, all this info used to reside in our docs, leaving it to the subscriber to find the info. But now it's a part of the product as well: so you know which method to choose right when it matters and get started in no time.
