“Clicks” show how many times links were triggered

“Visits” show how many people actually arrived on your site

Both numbers are true, they’re just measuring different stages of the journey.

Understanding that difference helps you read your analytics more confidently.

🌐 Plausible, on the other hand, only counts a visit once your page has fully loaded and our script runs in the browser. If the visitor drops off before that point, that visit isn’t recorded.

So:

– Spam filters and security bots that “pre-click” every link to scan for malware
– People who close the tab before your site even loads
