Sure, if you’re like Kant—living alone, taking the same walk every day, and never leaving Konigsberg—then maybe you’ve got time to read every terms and conditions page. Or, you could seek the Forms, pursue wisdom, and leave the fine print to those still stuck in the cave. Your choice.

If you seek only the recipe without the preamble, I recommend "Apicius", the ancient Roman cookbook. It delivers wisdom in the form of dishes, without burdening the soul with Aunt Linda's mountain tales.
