Excited to publish on more treatment options for MGTS, a severe thrombotic disease. This study discusses the use of pirtobrutinib, a third-generation BTK inhibitor in the second case of "HIT-like" MGTS reported (1st case: Blood. 2023 Apr 6;141(14):1772-1776).

Great article in CAP TODAY on the expanding group of anti-PF4 disorders!! MGTS (monoclonal gammopathy of thrombotic significance) with its “flavors”, “HIT-like”, “VITT-like” & “non-HIT/VITT-like”, is going to be an important entity in the thrombophilia field!!

The blood of a man who deliberately injected himself with snake venom for nearly 2 decades has led to an "unparalleled" antivenom, say scientists.

Antibodies found in his blood can protect against fatal doses from a wide range of species in animal tests.

Excited to see technology developed by Dr. David Murray and I in the "Technology Spotlight" section of the "Hematologist". It helps detect a novel thrombophilia, MGTS. It is gratifying to see that this is providing answers to patients with this severe disorder.

Thanks to the ASH for discussing a new flavor of anti-PF4 antibodies! This antibody we published on recently in the NEJM is neither HIT-like or VITT-like. Many thanks to @rapidnovor.bsky.social for their expertise! Here is the feature in the Hematologist:
