6/ Interestingly, one population turned out to not fit well (genetically and phenotypically) into any nearby species. We don’t know if it fits into its own undescribed species, or just one that hasn’t been sequenced yet. More sampling of the group in the future would help resolve this.

Went to a cool talk on dog (dawg?) genetics today by Dr. Leigh Anne Clark, a new faculty member at UGA. Most importantly, I learned about these adorable Bailey chairs, which help dogs with Megaesophagus disease keep their food down. www.baileychairs4dogs.com?lightbox=dat...

Went to one of my favorite secret natural spots in Athens yesterday, the Rock and Shoals granite outcrop. It was pretty dry and hot (being the end of summer) but here are a few cool plants I saw there earlier this year.
