My grandfather was in the Bedfordshire Yeomanry and was a horseman though the war. From his diary I know where he was at various times, but not what was going on in the war there! He spent quite some time in Palestine and was injured while there.

Actually, I tell a lie… I’ve just remembered that there is a hidden setting behind the Instagram name. If I select ‘following’ then I only see posts (and videos) from people I follow.
Can’t turn off video, but why do they hide this?

This is sad news, but the snippet I’ve clipped out makes my blood boil. Private equity firms eh? Just destroying stuff to make rich folks richer.

And what do you do when your famous writers age out, Newton? Where do you find your new writers, new voices?

I was pleased to read that people opened their homes to Ukrainian refugees, and I can perhaps understand why that plan of Derby University to turn an empty hall of residence into dispersal accommodation worried some people.
Overall still a pretty glum picture though.

Lovely to see these ordered racks of wind turbines marching out to the North Sea and bringing us green power!

So it’s #wipWednesday and I’m running some playtests of Escape to Utopia to test the mechanics for solo, 3 and 4 player games.
This picture shows the card results for the first solo game; the rows are the Acts and the columns are the Scenes in each act. I’m writing up the story, will post later.

Just how stupid is the iOS autocorrect going to get? This video shows it will not allow me to type ‘food’, continually changing it to ‘good’.

Finally got around to watching Hacksaw Ridge. What a tremendous film about courage and conviction. Andrew Garfield was brilliant at the part. Desmond Doss himself was phenomenal.

An exciting thought about solar energy!
“In 2009… the International Energy Agency (IEA) predicted that by 2030 capacity would increase to 244 gigawatts. That mark was reached by 2015, and the world is now installing over 244 gigawatts every six months.”

I’ve got a raging sore throat, so I’ve treated myself to a nice cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin. My sore throat isn’t any better, but the muffin was delicious.

One of the wierd things about this government statement is that for years people have had to prove their right to work by providing things like passports. The whole point of the shadow economy is that THEY ARE NOT PLAYING BY THE RULES, so why would they play by these new rules?
Makes no sense.

I found these words particularly telling. When there is so much that we could and should be talking about, the emphasis at the moment is unbelievable.
And it’s almost as if everyone forgets that giving in to bullies doesn’t stop the bullying. Just escalates it.

If you use LinkedIn, I strongly suggest turning this setting off, otherwise they will use your stuff to power their ‘AI’

Ok, another bugbear.
Folders have now got shrunken icons because of the fancy Liquid Glass sheen they have put around the outside of the ‘folder’
Despite the blown up version in the screenshot, these have become illegible in the phone in normal use. Boo!
