I had a wrestling match with mypy today. I finally turned to gpt-4.1 for help (it was really helpful). At the end of it all, when we finally got mypy to submit, gpt-4.1 celebrated our victory with this aphorism: "Remember: Static type checking is for you; you are not for it."
