congruently, ive been revisiting (ol’ pal) ahmed aldoori’s sketch tours as well. in one of them, he’s talking about “the necessary bad” in the process of making art, and warns against over polishing the golden egg.

i’m going back and rewatching my favorite art videos again too. iain mccaig’s sketchbook tour on THU is one that immediately puts me in the mood to draw.

he says at some point—“it doesn’t have to be anything.” the idea is freeing once you take it to heart & let your pencil & hand take the lead.

✍️ this week ive been forcing myself to draw—not for any work, clients, etc., but for me. its been difficult to stop myself because i love working tbh, but i realized how necessary it is.

i looked back on my old art and remembered how much i love the physical act of sketching.
