My childhood crush on Sarah Sutton prevents me from seeing any negatives where Nyssa is concerned. She is perfect and wonderful in that Kitty Pryde kind of way, and I will brook no dissent on this issue. /7

I like Tegan, though, at least once the writers have her stop crying and yelling about wanting to go to Heathrow every 5 minutes. Once she starts digging the ride while retaining the sass and willingness to call out the Doctor on her bullshit, she gets fun. And Janet Fielding seems so nice. /6

In fact, it leaves me wondering who was more annoyed with Tegan and Adric: the Doctor or the writers. /5

It's been fun remembering that although the Fifth Doctor is rightfully known for his compassion and curiosity, he also has a biting, downright crotchety sarcastic manner. Particularly in the early goings. Particularly particularly with Tegan and Adric. /4

It's been years since I watched any of these except for The Five Doctors, and might be the first time I've ever watched a few of them all the way through, only catching snippets on PBS BITD and then my memory pretending I had indeed seen the whole story. /3

So I've been going back to the beginning... my beginning, specifically, and rewatching the Peter Davison era. /2

Well, on the plus side, the price tag on this means the various BootLego manufacturers out there will start churning out their versions of the minifigures, some of which will be quite good, and they'll be easily and affordably acquirable on, say, Mercari.

(For the record, the answers are "no," "no," "no," and "yes, thank you.")

Regardless of my thoughts on Avatar (which, to be fair, I've still never seen any of 'em), the fact that he's putting dumptrucks' worth of his own money into science is admirable AF. I think that earns someone a little extra swagger in their step, and I wish there were more people like that.

One of those places I'd drive by a lot and always wish I could go and sadly never got the chance. Soon going to be able to say the same for Kowloon!

Honestly one of the few big problems with early NASA, when you think about it.
