My childhood crush on Sarah Sutton prevents me from seeing any negatives where Nyssa is concerned. She is perfect and wonderful in that Kitty Pryde kind of way, and I will brook no dissent on this issue. /7

In fact, it leaves me wondering who was more annoyed with Tegan and Adric: the Doctor or the writers. /5

After meaning to for years I finally read Lungbarrow. People always talk about it in terms of #DoctorWho canonicity & whether or not to delve into Doctor's origins, but I think they all miss the main point: going home to spend holidays with the family is horrible and awkward for EVERYONE.

If we're judging age in McDonald's time now, I remember getting the first themed Happy Meals.

Chicago is maybe my favorite city in these United(?) States. Hope the people there stay safe. And also that they give the bastards hell.

Been working on this a while now, the Fortress of Solitude, based on the comics & the 1978 movie. Had fun filling it up with stuff like various eras' Superman robots, various traditional Superman tchotchkes, a few jokes for myself (a bent metal rod, Lex Luthor's hair).

Last summer I got a bunch of the 1970s editions that, I think, Weekly Reader put out. The cover designs aren't as classic as the older editions, but I love that they look like Penguin Modern Classics covers from around the same time. A little like the Wildlife Treasury animal cards, too.

I always thought it was supposed to be Franklin Richards because it looks like you can see a little bit of his Power Pack uniform peaking out there.

This year's "not at SDCC because I can Comic-Con at home" purchase was this beautiful page from Superman 26 (current series) by Eddy Barrows. Big thanks to Fred from Super Pals Art (www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetai... )

It's that time of year. Happy Comic-Con weekend, especially to everyone who stayed home. Buy some comics, watch your favorite shows, enjoy not spending arena prices for water, etc.

Wasn't able to go to the Red Sox game the night these were given out, but eBay provideth. I'm especially happy since my dad was such a big Red Sox fan and this represents the perfect midpoint between our interests and he'd be as delighted about that as I am.

The first book I tend to think of when I think of Mike Wieringo is his run on Sensational Spider-Man with Todd DeZago, and I'm pleased to caretake a small part of that legacy since I own a page from the first issue I read from that run, #13, the beginning of a story in the Savage Land with Ka-Zar.
