Every studio is frantically looking to cut costs of output because most studios are very financially squeezed, and the likely alternatives to things like AI & other tool assistance is not "employ more people," it's probably "employ fewer & work them harder," or "don't make games."

I don't suggest anything, I describe the act of creating art. Sorry you haven't ever made any, so can't understand.

Have fun with the corporate bootlicking though, hope it pays off.

Can you read? I said ignoring AI.

In fact, the very problem with AI is that it is incapable of stealing like a human can. There is no intention. GenAI can never be plagiarism, and that's the problem with it, that's what makes it less than works made by people. A lesser art.

Fundamentally, detached even from anything AI, theft is at the core of art.

You should sleep worse at night if you fail to understand this. Arguing against theft is a pro-corporation, anti-artist position that should make you feel bad.

Okay but stealing art is based.

If you're against stealing art, then you are anti-art

I'm not sure how you could say it's not a video game. Even an AI vibe coded NFT scam game is a video game, if a shitty one.

And a sword cut out of sheet metal and one that's made by a master craftsman are both swords. One is just a way shittier sword

I thought it looked like it might be an actual single player FPS for a moment, before realising it's a PvP hero shooter.

It also looks like the most bland and generic game ever made. It's giving Immortals of Aveum, but worse (because hero shooter).

Is it loathed by the rest of the world?

One of the most popular multiplayer games proudly uses it. Clair Obscur, the most widely acclaimed single player game of the year also used it.

It seems to me that most people don't feel strongly about it at all.

For what it's worth the patch today did make the game look like complete shit (as if it even looked good in the first place).

Me and all of my friends across PC and PS5 now have constant texture unloading and reloading at all times, from town to being in the middle of a fight.

Your point sucks ass, sorry if that's hard to comprehend

We had the presents for each other under the tree.

On the night of Christmas Eve, big gifts for the kids, and some small stuff for the adults, were placed around the outside edge of the other gifts.

So in practice, my parents would get me "boring" gifts, while "Santa" would leave the new GBA

Think about it like this: every year, theres people pissed about whatever game they liked not winning whatever award. "Pizza Tower was robbed by (whatever game that was)", that kinda stuff.

Clair Obscur's got like 10 categories worth of robbery for people to be mad about for whatever reason

Their latest design trend of offloading all the complexity into the fight design and put of the kit has been a massive disaster IMO.

Hopping back and forth between WoW and 14 last year, 14 was boring in any content below extremes, while the act of hitting buttons in WoW was fun, even against trash
