I got a vibe of a very nerdy place with v nerdy videogame, coffee, all-things-japan enthusiasm (so v similar in that way) – but without the grime, obnoxious techbros, and micro-climates of SF

I guess I should clarify this was me last week. I was so dead I couldn’t post it back then :)

Ya I don’t get why people use loom. Have you looked at cleanshotx or just using the system native screen recorder?

that sounds like a good idea, I'll have to dive into OBS to learn what's possible

the problem I have is that I use a 6k monitor, and I use most of it for switching between split views in the editor but also to see the output in a browser next to it. I could drop the resolution and hobble my workflow for the sake of the livecode, but my goal is to show how I really work

lol no , although I would watch that. I meant facing outwards, like how car driving PoV vids do it

true but that complexity could be brought down with comments-as-a-service providers (who could give you an iframe code), or having the option for comments built into hosted services like bear blog (more work for bear, but not for the blog owner)

Definitely a contributing factor, but theoretically you can have a static site generator that have a
comments module/plugin as a self-hosted service. But also lots of blog services for non-technical users (bear blog etc) also default comment-less.
