Indie devs don't have multimillion dollar marketing budgets, or the benefit of every news website rushing to post articles on every update

The best way to support your favorite indie apps- besides paying for them 😄- is to leave reviews, and publicly share what you love about them~

Lists WIP v0001

Starting to sorta kinda look like a List. The stack order of the list contents area is a bit janky rn

Oh ya I remember clear , that was a fun app

WIP Lists v0000

like boxes, lists are divided into two parts .list-info, and .list-background.

.list-background needs to be rendered below connection lines (which i'll do later with vue teleport)

sharing this publicly bc it's normal for things to start off looking shitty

inspired by @stephango.com, I finally updated my blog's about page with my past appearances on interviews, podcasts, and conferences. (I may have missed some though)

Alt/Option Drag to Duplicate [New]

While holding the alt/option key, drag cards or boxes to duplicate them. Duplicating boxes will also dupe everything inside them.

Kinopio Year-End Investor Report

As you may know, Kinopio is organic software that's completely community funded. But if you're reading this, as far as I’m concerned, you’re invested in the future of Kinopio.

On my first day officially off, I'm finally enjoying my copy of Niche Design by itaydreyfus.com – a real labor of love zine interviewing designers with a unique point of view and style (I'm in there too!)

📧 I wanted to have the Kinopio year-end bulletin email out today, but I’ll need another day to send it out. Finished the writing today, but I still need to wrap up an illustration, and do a bit of custom email html/css work for it too

I've endeavored to never describe a user interface as an 'experience'

The next bulletin email going out to Kinopio users will be a Year-End Strategy Letter. I'm doing something I almost never do, crunching through the many numbers and graphs in my Stripe account. To ease the suspense, I think you'll like what I have to say.

Computers are pretty fast now, but they still haven't made one with *enough* USB-C ports

Thoughts on replacing the previous box-to-box-snapping behaviour (which could be finicky and less predictable) with a more consistent target-box-expanding behaviour that works just like cards do?

Why I can't be bothered to blog about AI, or feel passionate about it one way or another - it's just mostly mid to me

you just click the drawing button (or press 'd') and click and drag to start drawing

It's hard to tell whether other apps do full stroke delete because they determined it's better – or because it's *way* easier to implement and maintain
December 7, 2025 at 7:50 PM
❓ how important is it to you that the drawing eraser only remove a piece of the drawing, as opposed to the whole stroke (like tldraw/mmm does)? If partial stroke erasing is not actually important to ppl, I can really simplify the drawing system and improve perf for big drawings.

I get asked about it a lot so up next up is a blog post about my writing process. I've already done the rough outline (I just took notes about how I wrote the last one).
