Really enjoyed the Shaomeng Wang and Ju-Yun Li Lecture in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan from Lotte Bjerre Knudsen, Lasker award winner and pioneer of GLP-1 agonists. Great insight into fearlessness and persistence in drug discovery.

In 1992, my midwestern family (naively) hunkered down here as one of the strongest hurricanes on record to make landfall hit S. Florida. I cannot fathom what is about to happen to the people of Jamaica. God be with them.

This thing goes to 11 (thousand feet). Hike to Sky Pond in Rocky Mountain National Park with collaborators @neurobender.bsky.social and Stephan Sanders!

More photos to come, but holy hell is Rocky Mountain National Park amazing. This was at sunrise on the way to Sky Pond. Magical.

Not a bad day on the Huron today! The colors on that smallie were amazing. #4 olive wooly bugger with crystal flash was the winner. #puremichigan #flytying #flyfishing #largemouth #smallmouth

Very typical of wet flies, especially small ones that you want to get some depth on. Goes under the thread like this.

Just to put the size of this fly (and my gorilla hands) in context 😂

Getting a little better with the pheasant tail. Size 16 pheasant tail nymph with no bead or flash and a little lead wire for weight. #flytying

Could be the Caribbean (if there was salt, sharks, and the water was 30 degrees warmer 😎)
