Just watched it! The wrong way scene with the skeletons and John Candy as the devil made me laugh until I cried just as much when I first saw it opening day as I did again today. The bent over steering wheel is just *chef’s kiss*

I never owned one, but I do have a hat with the stupid cartoon duck on it (Ziggy is his name, for the ultimate in deep cut nerd trivia, ostensibly because the Catera was “the Caddy that zigs!”)

Yup, at Buick dealerships from the late 60’s through the mid 70’s. After that, Opels were sold here again in a couple of different guises over the years under different badges (Opel Omega/Cadillac Catera, Opel/Saturn Astra, etc), and ironically most recently rebadged as Buicks.
