As an American I say: sadly true. We are no longer a country to admire.

Her own timeline in her own writings calls that into question and suggests she may have been younger. Undergraduate in college. 18 or 19 when she began seeing him.

The fact that he was emailing Epstein until the night before his arrest is bad, yes, but it's the CONTENT of the emails that's the real problem.

He does not acknowledge the content of the emails in his "apology."

I thought I'd seen bad non-apologies during #metoo but hoo boy, this one is special 🤬
November 18, 2025 at 3:00 AM
Also, his statement also says NOTHING about the woman he called "peril" (which is incredibly offensive, a slur). No apology to her. No acknowledgement of her.

He says he's sorry he was emailing Epstein WITHOUT saying he's sorry he was being a literal, actual sex pest to a young academic.

He should "step back" into a bottomless crevasse.

HOW is he still teaching? What about the students in his classrooms RIGHT NOW?

@harvard.edu ???

Because nobody cares about women's safety, bodily autonomy or happiness. Period.
November 17, 2025 at 5:38 AM
A survivor shares harrowing personal details of her own sexual abuse, and THIS is what you post in response???

This canned bullshit listing famous rapists' names??? No "I hear you" or "I'm sorry that happened" ???

YOU ARE UNREAL. You're a sociopath. A fucking monster.

SOME man somewhere knew he was a menace, AND had the power to do something -- & chose not to.

Over & over again, for decades.

It's not up to WOMEN to fix this.

"I always knew he was a creeper." Yeah sure, join the club -- of women. Our lives and safety depend on sensing and avoiding bad men.
November 17, 2025 at 4:27 AM
Let's assume that lots of men are thinking the same, i.e., "I always knew about him."

Doesn't that make this moment even more sickening?

Nobody bothered to do anything about it.

It's like *shrug* sucks to be women in his orbit, but I'm gonna let him have his power & money. That's ... awful.

Or we say "what's the big deal, they're over it already." "It happened a long time ago."

And like I say, we BLAME WOMEN. "Did Women Ruin the Workplace?" The @nytimes.com asked, JUST LAST WEEK.

So victims get to suffer, carry it their whole lives, but the men who run things just shrug.

A "Garland-type" thinks "what about the statute of limitations" or "but these men's lives will be ruined!!!" or "let's just quietly make sure it doesn't happen again" or or or ...

We excuse rapists. We disbelieve victims. We blame women for EVERYTHING!

It only doesn't make sense if you ignore the fact that our entire political and social world is built on ignoring, covering up, or enabling the rape of women and girls (and occasionally boys, but note the rapists are nearly always men).

Hey everybody @kaysmythe.bsky.social is a victim-blaming TROLL -- telling survivors below in the thread "I hope you called the cops" & then shaming them if they didn't, & continually calling Epstein's victims "women." Also asking "why did they go back for more."

Very triggering.

Block & move on.

Yes, literally up to the day before he was arrested.

Epstein's last exchange with Summers was the night before he got re-arrested in 2019.

As Summers Sought Clandestine Relationship With Woman He Called a Mentee, Epstein Was His ‘Wing Man’ | News | The Harvard Crimson
When former Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers was pursuing a romantic relationship with a woman he described as a mentee, he turned to a longtime associate for guidance: convicted sex offender Jef...

You say you "believe" them but your ACTIONS HERE speak the truth, that you don't, really. Because they didn't do what YOU think they should have done.

Are you incapable of listening to all of us in this thread telling you how wrong you are?
