Speaking personally, leaning and turning help immensely to make a model feel "real." The more ways the model can move, the better. There's a sense of diminishing returns as you take each to the extreme but you can get a *lot* out of a little.
Most "gimmick" features (Walk, lean, 90 degree, etc.) have a LOT of complicated compatibility issues with arm toggles, expressions, etc!!
As this "feature creep" has advanced, I've seen more and more riggers opt to only accept models with a small amount of features on debut.

I would consider good audio to be the second most important aspect of being a successful streamer, after simply going live regularly. Plus you get to meet a vtubing industry veteran. Mio love!
