I came across this randomly. Had no idea this re-release was done and released in August. How cool! store.steampowered.com/app/3504570/...

Games/tech press in 2025, in a nutshell
I spent years on a journalism degree to tell you Homer's nipples have leaked in Fortnite
It was all building to this.

My new favorite headline is “This SSD is selling for -$37, they will pay you to take it, seriously Amazon is going to go out of business”

We really need a way forward that isn’t affiliate stuff.

Okay, sabbatical over. Time to do some side stuff.

@reckless.bsky.social No IRC mentions for file sharing on Version History. Shocked! Also feeling more ancient than everyone on the planet earth. Bones and dust.

This is just straight-up death to publishers who stick to ads. Even if you try to move to subs, though — have you built something worth paying for? Or, you know… spent years convincing everyone the answer to that is no. martech.org/almost-no-on...
Almost no one is clicking on ChatGPT links | MarTech
Newly revealed data exposes how little traffic ChatGPT drives to publishers. Spoiler alert: The gap between visibility and clicks is huge.

I have this game on like every other platform. Why do I still want this? What is wrong with me?

So many websites being so bad means, when they’re inevitably chomped by the Google shark, the runway will be totally clear for anyone who wants to do things the right way.

I always get some joy out of seeing people gaming out in the world. Shout to the dude playing Hollow Knight on the B. 🫡

Somewhat freeing: now I can outwardly laugh at stuff like this without being the reason a website gets blacklisted.

In the long list of movies I’ve watched this year, I can include the three “____ Has Fallen” movies. You can poo poo these but, I don’t know. How’d we get so many Fast & Furious movies and only three of these?

Just occurred to me that next year is the 10th anniversary of Doom 2016. It's currently a weird omission from the PC Game Pass library. Perhaps Microsoft puts out an updated version to check the non-Steam multiplayer and Play Anywhere boxes. Not sure it even needs a touch-up.

Just got off the most eerily quiet subway car ever. Totally packed but almost silent. I had to check to make sure I didn’t have ANC on. I knocked on something to see if I could hear it. Was like traveling with Falcons fans after the Super Bowl in 2017.

My kingdom for a chunky phone that doesn’t have a camera bump and uses all that space for a bigger battery. One that lays flat on a desk.

I'm still listening to job offers but only if you are Auntie Anne's and only if the job title is "VP of AI Pretzel Futurism." I want people to be shocked it exists.

Everyone now catching on to the fact that Microsoft is juicing the Xbox "Stream Your Own Game" and "Play Anywhere" numbers with a bunch of games no one's ever heard of.

Putting aside the very rough start, Master Chief Collection is kind of an achievement. Bringing multiple Halo games AND their multiplayer modes together into one interface — it took a lot. And it’s done. Sort of confused about why Microsoft wouldn’t want to push that everywhere.

I genuinely thought this service would be dead by now. Outside of sports, appointment TV is on the outs and fighting with legacy media entities doesn’t seem like something Google would want to keep doing.

Not intending to let the reporter off the hook by any means, but there are few places left that aren’t being squeezed. Things are getting sloppier across the board.
Bill de Blasio or DeBlasio? What happened when a longstanding newspaper failed to verify its source.
A respected UK paper failed to verify it was talking to the right Bill de Blasio and quoted a wine importer instead of the former NYC mayor.
