Agreed. It feels more like isolated messages into the void, a bit Twitter-like/a bit Instagram-like, less of a community feel. We really really need a good Facebook replacement.

I think it's slightly more user friendly for connecting to people, although my memory of Twitter is pretty old so maybe a later edition was very much like this. Sorry for the late reply - notifications seem to be set incorrectly. A tad clunky, no?

Quite convinced it would make a nice mini series on HBO... same screenplay team as Foundation, flesh it out with some appealing actors and great filming locations.

I have Threads but took an instant dislike to it, it was just too connected to Insta. I use Insta almost purely to look at art and random photos, basically a lurker for aesthetic reasons.

This seems like a blend between Twitter and Facebook... and might be a good backup in case FB ever goes full postal on us.
