This might be a snapshot of the collective anxiety among Chinese programmers.
And in the AI era, this anxiety is only getting worse. In an industry obsessed with youth, growing older feels like a liability, not a journey.

That’s how I believe a developer should be.
No matter the age, there’s still a youthful light in their eyes.

The wrong language can lead to:
– Costly gas inefficiencies
– Security vulnerabilities
– Limited developer availability
– Slower audit processes

Language isn’t just syntax, but it defines how safe and scalable your contracts are.

The best choice depends on what you’re building:
• For DeFi apps: Solidity or Vyper on Ethereum.
• For high-speed apps: Rust on Solana.
• For safer, smaller projects: consider LIGO (Tezos) or Reach.

Pick based on use case, not popularity.

2/3 Truly peer-to-peer decentralized apps still can’t match the scale or experience of something like Discord.
So I believe we’ll see a long phase (hard to predict how long) where “decentralized” apps are actually small-scale centralized services (e.g. 100K DAU),

Does GitHub recommend new projects somehow? Anyone familiar with the details?

I agree with this point. The consumer market will stay at a water level, with most of it focused on entertainment and games. But AI empowers specialists’ perspectives and efficiency. I think it will be a major trend.
