Coming here as a software tester but am also into games, Lego, films and probably other things too.
Ooh. Got an LLM set up on my personal laptop to start learning about AI agents.

Nope.

“Your computer is too crap for this” 😅

As I get older the phrase “So and so was fucked” is increasingly more likely to mean something bad. Not that they were just wasted. I need to start waiting see what the story is about before laughing.

I actually started to write out my first QA blog last night and damn it felt good to write something again. It’s been a while! Looking forward to getting something out there

Random Friday thought: Part of testing is about identifying the situations that aren’t ideal and how our software handles them. I guess you could say it’s injecting a bit of the real world into the SDLC #softwareTesting #quality

“Principles over process”. I’ll figure out how to say what I mean by that at some point but it sounds nice for now.

I’m taking the time to upskill again and am finally finding AI useful. It’s really helped me a lot with getting through technical learning. From understanding error messages and finding selectors to figuring out issues with installations on my computer and guiding me through sorting them out

There’s an Ask Me Anything with the CEO this afternoon. Telling myself I probably shouldn’t ask what he thinks about the pedestrianisation of Norwich Cory Centre.

Did some networking today for the first time since before covid and I forgot how good it is. Definitely going to be doing more of it.

It’s taken me far too long in life to realise that when you put boiling water in a pan you’re not having to rebook the water. You have to get the pan up to heat. Heat the pan a little bit before putting the boiling water in and you’re good to go.

There’s something positive to be said about using data that’s in a bit of a mess. It might not be how it’s intended to be but it’s can be likely to cross over with how real data is set up in the wild.

Aaaaand that’s me done with work for the year! It’s been an eventful and satisfying one and not overly stressful along the way. A good work year overall!

Aaand we’re on a release freeze. It really makes a difference when it’s recognised that things are much less likely to happen at the end of the year.

I’m so ready for it to be Christmas. Fighting the urge to have Pringles for breakfast.

Yesterday I did my final Lego display of the year. It’s been a good year doing this while making and hanging out with friends at the same time. I’m going to be displaying these one more time in Manchester and then taking a break from it to focus on some other things for a bit. #lego

Shopping online requires a lot of trust throughout, especially if you don't really know what you're looking for. As a customer I’ve felt myself losing trust while navigating ads and AI to try and actually shop.

Paying any chunk of money for something site unseen is a gamble from the off.
