A 1995 ad for Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall, an action RPG for PCs by Cyberlore Studios

Cyberlore flexed their action RPG chops from their work on 1994's Al-Qadim: The Genie's Curse (an adaptation of TSR's Al-Qadim TTRPG) with a bug-filled quest set in SSI's mechamagic World of Aden setting.
"Guaranteed to make your skin crawl. Play Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall and you'll never be the same..." The ad shows a few screenshots (and a lot of bugs) along with the box that the CD-ROM game came in. It boasts "grisly combat" and "mind-bending puzzles" when you find yourself trapped in the land of Kyan where its inhabitants are currently suffering from a plague that is slowly turning them into insects. Including yourself! Years later, the game was preserved on GOG.com allowing everyone to experience what was the last entry in SSI's short-lived, and hoped-for franchise.

A 1991 ad for The Bard's Tale on the NES, an RPG originally by Interplay for PC platforms

FCI's ad focuses on "the awesome weapon of magical music" as players "step into the action with 3-D perspective" in a slimmed down version of the PC classic. Buy two FCI games and get a free WCW T-shirt!
The ad uses art from the original PC packaging (the 5.25" disks came in a kind of 'album' sleeve that opened up) to entice players into experiencing the latest "From the leader in real role playing games". The ad boasts "16 levels of dungeons and catacombs" that will allow players to "Destroy the monstesr with magic and music."

The Bard's Tale (1985) by Interplay was an iconic CRPG dungeon crawl that debuted on the Apple II and was ported to a wide variety of PCs. Skara Brae reels under the cruel grip of the wizard, Mangar, daring heroes to rise, fight, and crush evil with spell, sword, and song! (a pubgeon crawler thread)

Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun (1992) was an RPG by Westwood Associates for the Sega Genesis. On the eve of destruction as goblins ready their final assault, you and your lord's castle are suddenly pulled to a strange world where you must find allies to survive! (a red sun thread)
You, your lord, his people, and your castle are trapped within a mysterious valley beneath a red sun. But the world itself is strange! Instead of a limitless horizon, the horizon seems to curve upwards in all directions as if you are sitting in a massive bowl. It seems that your castle, and your lord and his people, have survived their strange abduction to this new world. But now you must find allies for you're not alone in this strange place. The utilized different views. Most of the game was played via a top-down view along with its combat, but in special places like dungeons and caves, it shifted to a first-person view like this one with the screen divided between your party listing, a descriptive panel, and a compass whose aesthetics may be familiar with fans of Westwood's earlier work, the Eye of the Beholder series. Combat wasn't the kind of hardcore tactical fest that Westwood had brought with their TurboGrafx-16 game, Order of the Griffon (also released in the same year). It was simpler to use and more straightforward, but also not shy about killing off your entire party early on. Ouch.
