i genuinely do foresee a situation where jayce makes tangible positive change to stillwater, even if it's just through tutoring a couple of people and giving them hope for a better life on the outside. maybe even comes back on release to help with rehabilitation and campaigns for a useful library.

ohhh singed specifically leveraging jayce to get to viktor, and viktor being able to see so clearly what's happening between them... especially if jayce doesn't see it himself, or doesn't allow himself to believe there's clearly unethical ulterior motives. --

Exactly! Jayce so scared and overwhelmed that retreating into being this weirdo's pet/kid/experimental subject is just so much easier. also Singed using his Jayce access to get Viktor talking to him again and manipulating him into breaking them both out.

there are so many ways this could go too..... jayce ending up infantilised in a pseudo-child role, or singed coaxing jayce into revisiting science to manipulate his skills, both, neither, etc etc. and the jayvik implications (even platonic) of both of them having a history with singed? delicious

if he doesn't have a use, i think he would isolate and let himself die. if he doesn't build something of himself, i think he would be so lost and without purpose that he kills himself shortly after he gets out.

i think from a practical survival standpoint, he would need to provide a use, whether it's tinkering, or tutoring, or sexual exploitation. and on a personal level, he needs to make something of himself that has value to him, because i don't think he has anything of himself to go back to on release.
