I stand with @sanders.senate.gov. This is not about politics, but about real people. It's not about securing a vote for show, but preventing premium hikes for Americans who are scared of what that will mean for them.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social speech last night was powerful, and I have not heard a speech so well constructed and orated like that since watching old JFK and FDR clips. And most importantly he consistently reiterated being mayor for ALL. Not just those who voted for him.

A few days after the presidential election one year ago, we went to Fordham Road in the Bronx.
It was a little different last week.

Next year, we'll welcome 125,000 new New Yorkers to our city. But many families don't have what they need to give their babies a healthy start.
Building on @bkbpreynoso.bsky.social's pilot, we'll launch citywide Baby Baskets, providing new parents with essential items and resources.

Things to do in the future:
1. Putting them all on trial for crimes against humanity at the Hague
2. Totally reforming entire government to root out corruption and abuse of power so this bullshit never happens again
3. At some point you’d imagine, brunch

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.
When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

“CDC scrambles to rehire after accidentally firing top scientists” … y’all haven’t learned yet? Again, fascism in the US has looked exceptionally stupid. And now, y’all want to rehire them during a shutdown when you have no obligation to make sure they are paid and the work environment is tenuous…

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera
In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.
As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
