In my opinion, it succeeds, not struggles. A great balancing act that makes it about ideas & Now instead of a resolved matters & the Past. It's about the duty of art to be faithful to one's beliefs and not dogmatic purity. This sits right atop for me- 100% craft 0% ornamentation.

For me, two exceedingly interesting movies this season- in terms of pristine shot staging and editing- have emerged this week: A Complete Unknown (my favorite) and Conclave. The way they build their storytelling blocks is (very different to each other) as precise as it is thrilling.
