!!!!!

Vet-med students (and grads) are at the forefront of pandemic prevention. We need to rally to support them, rather than take resources away and add to their burdens. bsky.app/profile/rlsd...
There will be a precipitous drop in DVM students - they live on federal loans - and a rise in the already concerning mental health crisis in vet med, which is partially driven by financial concerns related to school loans

Being disabled and chronically ill is beyond lonely. Far too many people in society can’t comprehend illnesses which are permanent & unrelenting but don’t necessarily kill you. As a result they EXPECT you to get better.

When you don’t - they abandon you.

to push back a little on h5n1 fear: influenza can infect anything. the concern is transmission. can it sustain human to human transmission? so far, no. there's a couple hurdles for avian flu to overcome before it can spread easily person to person.

it’s #sturgeonsaturday!! 🧪🌎👩🏻‍🔬🐠

did you know that sturgeon don’t have scales? Instead they are covered in rows of bony plates called scutes! Scutes are as beautiful as they are protective & can be quite sharp in some life stages & species

Check out the rows of scutes that look like white diamonds 👇🏼
