Somehow I ended up with not one, but two original ones before I even had a chance to complete the replica... Oh well, it's still a golden oppertunity to compare the layout with the original. Especially the one I took most components off, as it looks like it has been through a war or something.

This was made for the local hackerspace, which is why it says "Nite" in Norwegian rather than "Ferrule", but...

Elna pattern 151, my beloved

(but seriously, this makes it so much easier to quickfix holes and tears)

The budget brands have started selling pork "ribbs" for Christmas that's cut so off the charts, that it's 80% side and belly. In other words, it's the perfect time to make bratwurst.

So I recently reverse-engineered this arcade pong game board to figure out the pinout. The only thing stopping me for doing a plug-n-play here is that there's some DC bias on the composite video.

Also I have to physically cut jumpers to unlock horizontal input, and I am not sure I want to do that.

This hurts to look at, and it's not because of the programming language used.

Cards are here, and the alignment is indeed rather good. Just gotta see how much wiggle-room it has in the card slot now, then put some chips on the board.

I can't quite figure out the ups and downs of this keyboard. Seems like it lacks a clear direction.

Aaaaand it's now 7am. I should sleep.

Next project for the Tandberg, gonna clone this card from a 13 year old photo I took and some barely readable schematics I found through a German web-forum.

There's a total of 7 serial ports on this one, with powered current-loop lines. It enables connecting a lot of dumb-terminals to the computer.

So technically speaking, I might be about halfways there maxing out the storage-capabilities of this one.

And the disk drive cabinet is done! Tested with a disk that the motor spins up, but will need the computer here to test with data.

A bit more chonk than the one I passed by the other day..

Today, cable management, and mounting of the working drives. Still need to 3D-print faceplates in the correct color, and mount proper feet for the box.

Parts arrived today, it's really starting to look like something! The box and electrical rigging is now all set and working.

Now to get the final front plates printed in off-beige PLA, then off to mounting the working drives instead of the placeholder one.

Some mushrooms not to pick, and some mushrooms to absolutely pick.

You're getting there...

The dual external 8" floppy disk drive cabinet is starting to take form. Still waiting for some components and cabling, but should be done quite soon!

Mate for scale.

Lookin General-Purpose today, are we?

I finally figured out when this bottle was from. There's apparently a production stamp on the back of the label and in the box, and both agree on February 2009. They didn't start selling these before the summer of 2009 from what I read, so that kinda tracks.

Heh, when you want to see just over the edge..

..or when the people living across the fjord wants a free extension to their houses.

Wound the clock up and adjusted it to precisely the same as my smartphone's clock. Lets see tomorrow how far it's adrift.
